A small hamlet called "Les Îlets" is the privileged place on the banks of the Saint-Laurent for lovers of this sport. Very old fishing site in the Gaspé, "Les Îlets" have long been busy for leisure activities and teaching scuba diving.

Québec Subaquatique is a non-profit organization founded in 1970 that brings together diving, snorkeling, swimming with flippers, hockey and underwater rugby practitioners from across Quebec. It promotes these activities, provides information on the benefits and safety issues of diving, implements related regulations and raises awareness of respect for underwater fauna, flora and heritage.
