Envoyez-nous vos photosNear the Manicouagan reservoir in the Groulx mountains, the loop of Mount Harfang is a hike that will make you discover the beauty of the Manicouagan crater. During your hike you will discover the vastness of the 214 million year old crater and the transition of vegetation to the alpine tundra. 11.2 kilometers long with an elevation of 160 meters, this loop is for advanced level hikers.
For Mount Harfang, it is always possible to take the trail. However, you will have to cross the creek where the closed bridge is located (North Harfang Trail)
The large creek bridge on the Mount Harfang North Trail is broken and may collapse at any time. It is therefore extremely dangerous to go on it. It is therefore necessary to go around it by crossing the stream to ford and / or walking on the rocks. Hikers should judge if crossing the creek is safe for them. Be aware that rocks can be very slippery and the water level can vary from day to day depending on the rainfall.

The trail is currently closed for the season for major repairs.
